The Chicken and Waffles is another signature favorite, boasting a crispy chicken breast layered on a fluffy buttermilk waffle, crowned with pecan praline butter and finished with a rich Tabasco molasses syrup that melds sweet and spicy flavors in perfect harmony.

The playful and indulgent Frozen Banana Froster blends rum with brown sugar, banana, salted caramel ice cream, and a dusting of cinnamon, delivering a nostalgic yet sophisticated sweet treat. Meanwhile, the Palace Planters Punch invokes the spirit of Old New Orleans with its blend of amber rum, cardamom, orgeat, vanilla brandy, orange, and lemon—a fragrant and refreshing concoction that perfectly complements the cuisine.
Wine lovers will find a well-rounded selection by the glass, including Spanish Cava, South African Rosé, and varietals from California and beyond, ensuring every meal is paired with the perfect sip.

Enjoyed some amazing food at brunch here. I am a selective non vegetarian so it is little difficult for me to consume all kinds of non veg. At Palace Cafe I enjoyed some good egg dishes and salads. The brunch menu is limited but dishes are good. Ambience is beautiful with live jazz musicians. They came to our table and played few of our favorites. Also enjoyed the famous drink of New Orleans...Hurricane. I was disappointed by the service. Our server was a girl called Destiny...seems she didn't like us. A smile if accompany the meal..makes it more delicious. I hope she realises that.
Lovely experience overall! The banana foster was such a fun experience, though it took around 20 minutes after our last dish for them to serve. Crabmeat Cheesecake, Andouille Crusted Fish, and Pasta St. Charles are definitely MUST eats!! I cannot recommend them enough and for sure will come back if I have the chance. Overall amazing!
This place was a smashing hit from the beginning. The turtle soup was flavorful and phenomenal. We had and enjoyed andouille crusted black drum fish it was flaky, tender the sauce and carrots and cucumber were perfect. The glazed chicken over a bit of wheat berries fantastic. And the steak was flavorful and very tender. Also the fried oysters were mellow and fantastic. Even the kids enjoyed them! I definitely come back here.
Our food was good. The atmosphere was very fun with the live jazz music. They played on the stairs for the first 30 min then moved table to table. The bananas fosters is worth the trip alone. They didn’t have French onion soup which really bummed us out.
Palace cafe. Closing. OMG Say it isn’t true. Nothing like sitting on Canal Street watching the street cars pass eating Bananas Foster. If you’re not from NOLA and you want an epic New Orleans meal, here’s a list of their other places. They give you jingle bells, when you visit during the holidays. And that’s just the beginning. Visit us and them, you won’t regret it. Their king cake was a bit different and wonderful for that. The last one I had, the baby got drunk and fell over. Now I think I am. Thanks for the memories y’all. I’ll be seeing you in all the familiar places.
*Delayed post from Jan '25. Stopped here for a light dinner and really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was upscale, but welcoming, and out server was very attentive, providing everything we needed with quick and polite service. The fried green tomato caprese was my favorite plate by far because it was super crispy on the outside and the tomato wasn't mealy whatsoever. The acidity from the balsamic glaze was the perfect topping for the salty fried tomato, nutty pecan pesto and creamy cheese. The French Onion Soup was delicious as well, but I wish they had more soup in the bowl, or rather cut back on the amount it's topped with because the bread pieces soaked up too much of the soup. Love the cheese on top though! The Werlein salad aka Casear salad was pretty standard, but I appreciated that the chicken wasn't overcooked or dry, as can easily happen for this dish.
We are here for lunch and opted to share a bunch of small plates. The food we had was really good! That included: - Crabmeat cheesecake (basically cab quiche) - Asparagus and crab - Fried green tomato caprese salad - Pork belly (wished the pics were a little bigger) That said it took a LONG TIME to get our food. Two other tables were seated after us, ordered after us, and got their food before ours arrived to the table. We suspect that they forgot to put in our order because a different server came back after we'd already placed our order and asked if we wanted anything else.... We didn't make a reservation so the only space left was upstairs at a high top. If you can plan ahead of time I would recommend it so you can sit downstairs. They had a live band playing while we were there and I think it would've been nice to be closer to enjoy the music. Overall, the deliciousness of the food made up for the fact that it came late and our server was NOT ATTENTIVE and our food came really late.
